Job Description

Main duties of the job
- To be the Hospital Lead on clinical governance and patient experience providing specialist advice at all levels including the provision of Hospital Board papers and reports
- To provide a full managerial support service directly to the Medical Director and Director of Nursing in relation to Clinical Governance, to include, in conjunction with senior colleagues, the compilation of work programmes, action plans and performance management systems for the Hospital.
- To ensure, in conjunction with Medical Director and Director of Nursing, Divisional Directors and Leads in Clinical Governance, that the processes and structures to facilitate clinical governance are established and operational within the Hospital.
- Work with Medical Clinical Governance Lead to implement of Trust's Clinical Governance Strategy within the Hospital, ensuring that common approaches to key clinical standards are consistent across the Hospital.
- Lead manage and co-ordinate Hospital integrated governance systems which deliver compliance with all relevant external standards and requirements including those of the Care Quality Commission, NHS Improvement, NHS England and Human Tissue Act.
- Develop and implement the Hospital processes within the Divisions for the management and response to complaints, PHSO and CQC enquires which meets the statutory requirements and ensures that the Medical Director and Director of Nursing are briefed on themes and concerns.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder leading on a broad range of clinical governance and patient experience activity, in liaison with other key professionals and functional heads within North Manchester General Hospital Governance and Patient Experience remit.
The post holder will work closely with the Director of Nursing and the Medical Director and Deputies. The post holder will maintain strong working relationships with clinical colleagues and will work with the Governance Leads within each of the Hospital Divisional management structures. He/she will have held a senior leadership role and have extensive experience in clinical governance, clinical effectiveness and patient safety.
