Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria

• Empathy and Sensitivity: Capacity & motivation to take in others' perspectives and to treat others with understanding.
• At least 12 months' experience (at FY1/2 level) in appropriate posts.
• Conceptual Thinking & Problem Solving: Capacity to think beyond the obvious, with analytical and flexible mind.
• Coping with Pressure: Capacity to recognise own limitations and develop appropriate coping mechanisms.
• Organisation and Planning: Capacity to organise information/time effectively in a planned manner.
• Managing Others and Team Involvement: Capacity to work effectively in partnership with others.

Desirable criteria

• Interest in working with older people, or some experience in Geriatrics

Additional and Aptitudes
Essential criteria

• Sympathetic attitude: you will be required to provide pastoral support to students in difficulty at times.
• Supportive, Respectful, Collaborative, Innovative.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria

• Clinical Knowledge & Expertise: Capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge & awareness to full investigation of problems.
• Communication Skills: Capacity to adjust behaviour & language as appropriate to needs of differing situations.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria

• MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification.
• Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice.
• Evidence of experience of and enthusiasm for teaching.
• GMC is up to date and fit to practise safely.

Desirable criteria

• Undertaken additional teaching courses or qualification.
