Job - Bank Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Location -The Harley Street Clinic (also covering our LOC and The Princess Grace Hospital site), London
Contract Type - Bank (Shifts will be based on your availability)
Other info - Shifts will be equivalent to a band 7 NHS level and there is scope for regular 1-2 days per week as well as additional ad hoc annual leave cover.

Job Description
To support the highly specialist speech and language therapy service to adults who present with a range of complex swallowing and communication difficulties. To provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention to inpatients and outpatients including oncology, head and neck radiotherapy and surgical patients.

Specialist skills in assessment and management of voice disorders would be highly desirable

Duties & Responsibilities

• To provide specialist services to adult patients with swallowing, communication and cognitive disorders within The Harley Street Clinic, LOC, Princess Grace Hospital and T15.
• To work closely with Speech and Language Therapy colleagues across the HCA SLT Acute Network to establish and promote the delivery of high quality treatment, including implementing quality initiatives and quality assurance methods.
• To provide highly specialist speech and language therapy service to Oncology outpatients including maxillofacial, and ENT surgery and head and neck radiotherapy
• To assess and treat communication, cognitive and / or swallowing problems, and independently manage a caseload.
• To maintain accurate, up-to-date and concise treatment records detailing the individual patient's treatment plan and progress.
• To work closely with the interdisciplinary teams to ensure that an agreed care plan and patient centred goals are set and that the outcome of intervention is monitored.

Skills & Experience

• HCPC registration
• Bachelor or Masters degree qualified in Speech and Language Therapy
• RCSLT membership preferred
• Extensive acute clinical experience
