Successful candidates will need to be enthusiastic and motivated. Good communication, clinical reasoning and organisational skills are essential. You must be a team player but be able to work autonomously and have the ability to champion the needs of your patients.

Applicants wanting to work full time or part time will be considered.  A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,034 and a maximum payment of £1,791 per annum (pro rata where applicable and dependent on base location)

Interview will be in Hemel Hempstead (interview via MS Teams can be offered if needed). 

Person specification

Qualifications/Education
Essential criteria
  • Highly specialist knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent qualifications, further theoretical training and experience to Master's level equivalent in required speciality
  • Continued Professional Development evidenced by attendance at short specialist postgraduate courses to maintain and develop own specialist knowledge and expertise
  • HCPC Licence to Practice
  • Registered member of British Association of OT/Chartered Society of Physiotherapists
  • Student Supervision/Clinical Educators Course attendance
  • Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups


Desirable criteria
  • Line management training
  • Experience of undertaking appraisal and planning CPD for less experienced staff


Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • Experience and commitment to involve patients and service users in the design and development of service provision
  • Evidence of involvement in service policy development in area of specialism
  • Experience of clinical supervision to wide range of staff in area of specialism
  • Knowledge of NHS, Education and social care policy and directives where these impact on area of specialism or service delivery
  • Evidence of delivering training in area of specialism
  • Strong postgraduate experience some of which should be in the relevant specialist area


Desirable criteria
  • Experience in complex moving and handling


Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels across organisations and with a range of audiences
  • Able to analyse and interpret complex data
  • Ability to handle high workloads and to prioritise
  • Ability to work under pressure
