Compass Associates are proudly working with a CQC rated Outstanding hospital in Lancashire, to recruit an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join them as their new Medical Director.

You'd be based at a secure hospital, which is comprised of low secure and locked rehabilitation wards for adult males with complex mental health conditions, forensic histories and personality disorders. The hospital also has a purpose-built, low secure service for older males (aged 50+) who require more complex care due to additional physical health conditions or mobility difficulties.

You would hold a caseload of up to 16 patients, provide clinical supervision to the Consultant Psychiatrists and take the lead on specific quality measures e.g. MHA/MCA compliance, clinical governance, MDT meetings and risk assessments/management strategies. The hospital has five other Consultant Psychiatrists as well as the wider MDT which includes Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Specialist Mental Health Nurse and Healthcare Assistants.

Hours

This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week, which can be worked over 4 or 5 days. You would be required to take part in the non-residential on call rota (1 in 5-6) which would be renumerated on top of your base salary.

The Candidate

Essential criteria:

Current GMC registration without conditions

Specialist Register for General Adult, Forensic, Rehabilitation or Older Adult Psychiatry

Section 12 and Approved Clinician status

Adult inpatient/forensic experience

MRCP or equivalent

Interview Process

Informal conversation with the Hospital Director, followed by a formal interview on site.
