Job Description
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Communication: • To establish effective therapeutic relationships with service users and their carers, communicating in a way that respects their views, and over comes any communication difficulties which may be present • To contribute to the effective communication between all parties involved in the service users care • To participate in multidisciplinary meetings regarding service users' care and progress, where appropriate Management; • To comply with policies and procedures for Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust, including Health and Safety requirements • To understand and work within the Royal College of Occupational Therapy code of ethics and professional conduct, professional standards, legal, regulatory and employers' policy requirements • To plan and prepare sessions using clinical supervision for guidance • To provide a safe, professional and supportive environment in which therapeutic activities can take place, ensuring the safe use of equipment and storage of materials • To work flexibly adjusting priorities according to the needs of the service • In line with Trust policy and guidelines, review and reflect on own practice and performance through regular, active participation in clinical supervision and appraisal • To provide accurate statistical information as required by the Trust and Occupational Therapy service • To contribute to the induction / orientation of new staff and the education of students where appropriate • To participate in the dissemination and sharing of information and skills regarding the work of the staff, students and volunteers
