Location: North of Watford - Hertfordshire

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 - negotiable depending on experience
Hours: Full time 37.5 - 4 days 7:30am - 6pm

About the service: We are delighted to be recruiting for a nOperating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our highly reputable private healthcare provider in their bright and vibrant private hospital just north of Watford in Hertfordshire. The hospital is ideally situated within easy reach of Hatfield, St Albans, Stevenage, Watford, North London and throughout Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Scrub Nurse to join a leading, forward-thinking private hospital in their expanding hospital north of Watford. The hospital offers a range of services including specialist rehabilitation physiotherapy and outpatient diagnostic facilities including fast-track access to X-ray, MRI, CT and ultrasound. The theatre works with a range of clinical disciplines, including orthopaedics and cosmetics. This role would consist of working with 1 of the 3 operating theatres. This recovery role is ideal for a motivated, friendly individual who is ready to work in a busy theatre, wanting progression!
About the role:
You will be an ODP within our Theatre team and will be responsible for:
Prepare an operating theatre/anaesthetic room for surgery in relation to instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for specific operative procedures, ensuring waste is kept to a minimum. In the case of anaesthetics ensure all necessary and emergency equipment is available and in working order.
Ensure the Patient Record is completed in a timely and accurate way.
Run a theatre list without supervision and supervise
Organise own time and be responsible for appropriate delegation of staff and duties
Working across a variety of specialisms; scrub, anaesthetic and recovery
Report all accidents and untoward incidents to senior staff and complete electronic reporting system.
Help to assist the Theatre Manager with the day to day running of the department, acting as preceptor for junior nurses and HCAs, Run a theatre list without supervision and supervise, mentoring junior staff
Comply with ONE Healthcare policies/procedures and in particular, issues relating to Health and Safety, COSSH, Incidents Reporting and the Data Protection Act.
Ensure that all elements contained within the AODP Code of Professional Conduct are adhered to, and ensure that you maintain registration requirements.
Who we're looking for;
Be HCPC registered- your pin must not have any restrictions or conditions
Eligibility to live and work in the UK
Proven ability to manage clinic audits and competence of clinical skills
Experience in clinical private hospital settings
At least 4 years working as an ODP
Substantial perioperative experience and enthusiasm for cross functional working such as ambulatory care.
Ability to deliver the highest quality of care to patients, with CQC knowledge of standards
Effective verbal and written commination with patients and colleagues, with customer service standards front of mind
Ability to make judgements involving complex facts or situations with the clinical practice
Sound computer skills using MS Office, outlook and teams.
