Job Description

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the award winning RAPID Lung Cancer Programme which is fully compliant with the optimal lung cancer pathway. They will also be involved in delivering the Manchester Lung Health Check Screening Programme. We work as part of a large multidisciplinary team and there will be the opportunity to gain further experience in rigid bronchoscopy/airway management with our thoracic surgical colleagues and gain experience in medical/radiation oncology.

Essential

Essential criteria
  • Medical qualification
Higher Qaulification

Essential criteria
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Trained to Level 1 in thoracic Ultrasound
Training and Experience

Essential criteria
  • In final year of specialist respiratory training or within one year of completion
  • Independent at bronchoscopy
Desirable criteria
  • Some EBUS experience
  • Some experience in Indwelling pleural catheter insertion and thoracoscopy.
Academic Achievements

Desirable criteria
  • Publications in peer reviewed journals and experience in clinical trials
  • Evidence of ethical research relevant to Oncology or Acute Medicine
Personal Skills

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of clinical leadership skills; ex
