The Client     

Compass Associates are proud to be recruiting for a leading Ophthalmic Clinic located in Central London, who are currently in search for an Ophthalmic Technician to join their team. Specialising in laser eye, cataract and retinal surgery, this clinic is fully equipped with the latest technology and pride themselves on having some of the world’s best eye surgeons within their team.    

The Role     

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic testing, as well as assisting in surgical and administrative duties. This is a patient-facing role, so previous customer service experience is essential as you will be a key part of the patient’s journey. You will be able to independently manage your workload and have previous exposure to working in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience working within the Ophthalmic sector is not essential and full training will be provided. However, relevant experience within a similar outpatient, clinic or surgical setting will be strongly advantageous.       

Requirements     

- Previous experience within the healthcare sector  

- Proven experience within customer facing roles  

- Excellent verbal and written communication

- Experience working within an optical background will be advantageous

- Strong organisational skills and able to organise workload efficiently   

- Good IT skills including Word, Excel, Email and Internet   

- Keen interest in the medical field

- Professional and presentable      

Summary     

My client is seeking a passionate Ophthalmic Technician who has previous customer-facing experience to join their growing team. This is a full-time position consisting of 37.5 hours per week, which will be worked days only. This position will be offered on a 6 month contract basis, with the view to possibly extend to a permanent contract.
