Creative Therapist/Psychotherapist - Looked After Children      

Home-based with occasional travel        

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000

Compass Associates are proudly working with a specialist provider of children's residential and specialist education services to recruit a Creative Therapist who has experience working with children.       

Your role will involve working with looked after children (ages 8-16) who have backgrounds of complex trauma, attachment disorders, placement breakdowns, self-harm and those with Autism, ADHD, or emerging mental health conditions.         

You'd be based from your own home and visit 6-7 small children's homes where you'd carry out consultations, observations and assessments and as well as being involved in delivering staff training, helping to develop the homes' therapeutic provisions and advising residential staff on the best therapeutic approaches for the children in their care. The homes that you would cover are located around North Kent and all homes use trauma, attachment, and PACE informed models of care.       

You would have senior clinical supervision from the Clinical Lead as well as be part of the wider clinical team which includes Psychologists and Creative Therapists.

The Candidate

Essential criteria:      

A degree in Art, Music, or Drama Therapy

Diploma in Psychotherapy     

HCPC or BACP registration      

Post-qualification experience working with vulnerable children e.g., within specialist schools, residential homes or CAMHS services      

Full UK driving licence and own car      

Interview Process        

One stage interview via MS Teams with the Clinical Director and Clinical Lead
