Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- Dietetic qualification that can result in HCPC registration
- HCPC registered dietitian
- A Masters Level qualification or post graduate qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent experience
- Post qualification courses or portfolio of evidence demonstrating comprehensive understanding of management and leadership of complex dietetics
Desirable criteria
- Management/leadership qualification
Previous experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial post qualification experience as senior dietitian or equivalent, managing dietetic teams.
- Demonstrable previous success in leading and delivering change and performance by engaging clinical teams in strategic direction and delivery plans
- Previous experience of conducting audits and quality improvement projects
- Experience of managing and configuring budgets and the skills to monitor and assess financial information.
- Ability to collaborate constructively with internal and external partners to create the conditions for successful partnership working.
- Ability to think and plan strategically, tactically and creatively, and to prioritise work programs in the face of competing demands.
- Proven track record of developing dietetic practice
- Experience of clinical research
Skills/Knowledge/Ability
Essential criteria
- Excellent knowledge of clinical governance and risk management
- Excellent time management , prioritizing and problem solving skills
- The ability to implement sound performance and reporting mechanisms for service activity, quality and outcomes and recognise and respond early to variances
- Ability to delegate
- Broad range of clinical knowledge outside specialist clinical area
- Well-developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams, and have them understand the Trust's and your performance expectations.
- Extensive knowledge and comprehensive understanding of professional and clinical issues in Dietetics and an awareness of current national policy in the NHS
