Job Description
The post would be suitable if you have had previous experience working in mental health, you want to consolidate your knowledge of occupational therapy and be involved in delivery of high quality, evidence based occupational therapy interventions.

• To manage a clinical caseload as part of a specialist community mental health team
• To ensure safe, appropriate and effective rehabilitation interventions that meet the needs of the target population through advice, advocacy and professional knowledge as an Occupational Therapist.
• To input evidence-based specialist Occupational Therapy skills to the multi-disciplinary service.
• To be a proactive team member in respect of communication, team administration, quality of service and service development.
• To provide supervision and support to colleagues.
• To provide good quality practice placement education.

Please note all staff members who are working in healthcare premises, working with patients/service users and/or undertaking patient/service user visits will be required to take a twice weekly Lateral Flow Test, and to produce evidence of their negative test result on request. Staff are able to order LFT kits through the Government website free of charge.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree or equivalent pre-registration award in Occupational Therapy.
- State registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Desirable criteria
- Professional Practice education accreditation
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post registration experience of delivering occupational therapy in hospital or community setting
- Experience of working with people with a range of mental health problems
Desirable criteria
- Supporting other members of staff Professional practice education of Occupational Therapy students
- Working with other agencies
- Experience of having acted as a Care Co-ordinator.
- Working with people from different ethnic backgrounds
