Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a specialist team focusing on the needs of people with Dementia in the East Kent Area. . We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist who is passionate for the well-being and best interest of people with Dementias, who are keen to develop and hone skills which will truly enhance and revitalise professional practice. This role demands a clear focus on professional clinical leadership.
Main duties of the job
Under the direction of a Locality Services Manager you will Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the team. Provide clear and timely assessment of patients with complex needs and distressing behaviours particularly dementia. Offer advice and consultation to acute hospital teams in relation to managing distressing behaviours. Provide clear recommendations in relation to onward support and placement jointly with Rapid response colleagues where co -morbidities and complex physical and mental health needs are present. Provide clinical advice, decisions and advise on suggested care and support packages, working with system partners to support swift and appropriate discharge or appropriate next steps. Provide short term in-reach to aid transition (i.e to residential and nursing homes)

In order to be considered for this post you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
Minimum of 3 years posts registration experience in Mental Health
Previous management experience
Advanced supervisory and appraisal skills
Advanced clinical experience and knowledge
Experience of liaising with a variety of stakeholders
Planning and decision making skills
Good knowledge of clinical governance and how you can contribute towards this
Advanced communication skills
Leadership skills - ability to guide and motivate others in clinical aspects and through periods of change
Example of contribution to service development.

- Experience in working with people with Dementia and BSPD
- Experience in communications with multiagency services and leaders

- 3 years band 6 experience
- Experience of working with Older people with Mental Health
