Job Description

Main duties of the job

You will have the opportunity to undertake initial assessments and direct one to one and group based therapeutic work with women experiencing a wide range of mental health problems, often relating to complex trauma or attachment difficulties.

You will also have opportunity for indirect working, offering consultation, and training to both colleagues within the multi disciplinary team (MDT) and the wider maternity system.

We are keen to recruit people who enjoy working in MDTs and who are creative, adaptable, and responsive to the needs of the service.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with women and their families and whose values and principles are aligned with the organisation.

The post offers an incredibly supportive team working environment and you will receive clinical and professional supervision as well as regularly link in with established psychologists within the service who meet regularly for ongoing CPD, discussion of clinical and professional issues and invaluable peer support.

There is also opportunity for professional development within a supportive department, with additional training being actively encouraged.

You will observe, and abide by, all relevant professional codes of conduct and practice including those of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The post holder will be fully registered with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist as a condition of employment.
