Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria

• Full GMC Registration. MB BS or equivalent

Desirable criteria

• BSc or other Undergraduate degree MRCP(UK/I) or equivalent

Clinical Experience
Essential criteria

• UK general medical experience of 24 months (including 6 months of acute unselected take).

Desirable criteria

• Previous oncology experience.

Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria

• Appropriate level of clinical knowledge Appropriate experience and competence in common medical interventions Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable criteria

• Previous experience in chemotherapy

Research
Desirable criteria

• Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research in Palliative Medicine

Teaching
Desirable criteria

• Experience of undergraduate teaching.

Personal Skills
Essential criteria

• Ability to communicate with clarity and intelligibly in written and spoken English. Empathise with patients and their relatives in the communication of bad news Work co-operatively with others

Other
Essential criteria

• Understanding of and adherence to the principles of Good Medical Practice set out by the General Medical Council.

Desirable criteria

• Evidence of contribution to effective clinical audit
