Job Description
Spire Leeds Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experience Specialist Angiography radiographer to join our Radiology team. Our staff are offered support and development in a challenging but rewarding environment with an opportunity to attend external and internal courses.
Spire Leeds Hospital, located in Roundhay, Leeds, has been treating patients for almost 30 years. We are the region's largest private hospital in terms of the range of services we offer and the number of consultants we work with. The hospital offers a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres, a sterile services department, a dedicated endoscopy suite, and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner. There are outpatient and physiotherapy departments providing services six days per week.
Duties and responsibilities
- Discuss and agree with colleagues' capabilities and competencies in order to ensure best practice across the diagnostic imaging team.
- Compare current imaging protocols, trends and developments against appropriate benchmarks implementing change when necessary.
- Identify people's health needs by undertaking thorough subjective and objective assessment methods, using full clinical expertise and experience.
- Obtain information on patient's needs within the overall context of their imaging and care requirements. Follow processes of specific clinical reasoning which allows optimum outcomes to be achieved during the imaging procedure.
- Interpret patient data using all of the relevant components to assist in making an accurate clinical diagnosis. Make this information available to appropriate colleagues.
- Identify and discuss with colleagues the implication of imaging, enable them to think through the risks and their effective management and the need for referral to others.
- Provide assessment advice and support on current evidence-based practice in the specialty of angiography to colleagues and others. This should be done proactively and on request.
Who we're looking for
- Degree (BSc Honours in Radiography or equivalent qualification) with a valid HCPC with no conditions or restrictions
- 1 to 2 years Post graduate experience in imaging including a period of specialising in angiography.
- Experience of working in partnership with consultants and participating in creating innovative solutions for new services
- Has worked in an Imaging Department providing a variety of imaging services to an advanced level of practice.
