This beautiful care home located in Surbiton provides 24-hour nursing care within a homely environment. It is also in the top one per cent of care homes for dementia care in England. With its stunning foyer and relaxed, spacious lounges and on site gym the care home offers a warm, friendly welcome as well as highly trained staff providing specialist nursing and dementia care.  

The care team works hard to ensure that life for residents in Surbiton Home is comfortable, stimulating and fulfilling and supports residents to live a full and enjoyable life. To further assist with ensuring the residents have the best quality of life, the home is now on the lookout for a highly experienced Physiotherapist to join their team.  

Working collaboratively with the Physiotherapists across other sites, and with the support of our care team, the successful candidate will deliver and oversee targeted, goals-based interventions to support the well-being of the residents of this home (including the more complex needs of our young veterans.)  

This is a role that will suit a Physiotherapist who is driven, motivated and has the ability to lead by example.  

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have compassion and a special interest of working with the dementia sufferers and the elderly. The physiotherapist will be someone who is confident in supporting the elderly, and who is driven, motivated and has the ability to lead by example. The main purpose of this role is to deliver a person-centred approach which enables and promotes independence and supports positive quality of life

You will be a fully qualified Physiotherapist with a current registration with the HCPC. You will be an   experienced Physiotherapist with knowledge of current issues in professional practice with particular relevance to elderly care. The Physiotherapist will be an essential part of the multi-disciplinary team, using various holistic techniques to maximise the residents physical movement.

Hours

37.5 hours per week.  

8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm with 30 minute lunch  

Monday to Friday  

Occasional evening / weekend  

Requirements

- Diploma in Physiotherapy or BSc (Hons)  

- Registration with HCPC  

- Assessment and treatment skills for working with older people and those living with dementia  

- Committed to delivering the highest standards of person-centred care

- Able to demonstrate good judgement, problem solving and decision making  

- Proactive and able to use initiative  

- Able to motivate others  

- Effective organisational skills  

- Good Communication skills (written and verbal)  

- Team player  

- Committed to Continued Professional Development
