Job Description

Main duties of the job
  • To provide a community Occupational Therapy service for children & young people with diagnosed Long Covid and a variety of health, education and social needs.
  • To assess the functional, psychological, social and educational needs of children & young people referred to the service.
  • To ensure a high standard of care for each child, working with all disciplines and agencies involved with the family. To communicate with these agencies, parents and children in an appropriate manner, often with sensitive information regarding diagnosis and outcomes.
  • To manage a Long Covid caseload and work with the children's community long covid rehabilitation team.
  • To manage a caseload with support from Team Lead
  • To play an active role in the ongoing development of the children's community long covid rehabilitation team.
  • and of the Occupational Therapy service providing advice on best practice and ensuring its implementation.
  • To provide supervision and support to Band 6, Band 5 and/or Band 4 occupational therapy staff as required.

To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their own work, including the management of patients in their care.
