Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • • A good general education to GCSE
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of / interest in healthcare science.
Experience
Essential criteria
  • Previous practical experience within a customer service environment.
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of pathological specimen handling / reception
Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • Willing to learn about relevant health and safety issues. Willing to learn about relevant ethical issues. Willing to learn about quality assurance and quality control. Able to demonstrate a basic understanding of confidentiality.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality systems. Knowledge of laboratory Health and Safety
Skills
Essential criteria
  • Able to concentrate for prolonged periods. Able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team. Be Computer literate - able to use MS Word and email. Demonstrate ability to work methodically and with a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrate good organisational skills.
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to prioritise workload. Ability to work alone.
