Job overview

The following post has become available within KMPT for a dynamic, self-motivated, forward thinking inpatient administrator. The position will be within the Rosewood Mother and Baby Unit (MBU), based at the Greenacres Site, Dartford for 37.5 hours per week, and will provide full secretarial and administrative support to a multi-disciplinary team. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 9-5pm.

Applicants will be looking for a rewarding administrative post with the opportunity to hold a key role within a large and friendly team overseeing all aspects of the day to day running of the service. The role has some flexibility, and would suit a candidate with the personal maturity, self confidence and good experience to be proactive in structuring their workload and liaising effectively with team members and service users on a continual basis. The post holder would be educated to GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent, and possess a NVQ Level 3/RSA3 or equivalent.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent organisational skills and possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. This role would provide a unique opportunity to gain varied experience in a stimulating and rewarding environment.

Main duties of the job

A band 3 Administrator will be a flexible resource to support the team in the provision of services to include organisation of work for self and other team members and will have front line contact with service users, carers, the general public or other external stakeholders, as well as internal colleagues. The Administrator will support the inpatient unit with tasks such as typing, preparation of correspondence, customer service, organisation eg diary management and organising meetings and events + maintenance of effective and efficient working systems and supporting business and performance management.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Post holders will have developed skills in customer care which they will use to in their transactions with customers/clients/other external stakeholders and internal colleagues

Occasionally posts at this level would be expected to deal with anxious clients or visitors using basic conflict resolutions skills and calling for assistance as appropriate.

May explain (but not interpret) procedures, rights or requirements from acquired knowledge about KMPT policies and procedures.
