Job Description

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £40.00. This fee will be deducted from your second month's salary.
Interviews are due to be held on 16 or 21 December 2021.
The closing date is 9 December 2021.

Person specification

Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • • Registered Dietitian • Appropriate diploma/degree to Masters level - such as Masters in Advanced Dietetic Practice / Masters in Paediatric Dietetic Practice or equivalent level of knowledge and experience • Strong evidence of CPD (portfolio) with evidence of training in paediatrics and specialist clinical area
Desirable criteria
  • • Recognised training in obesity / behaviour management / motivational interviewing • Recognised further training in paediatric dietetics • Paediatric group member or equivalent professional society • Undertaken courses accredited by professional body relevant to the post
Experience
Essential criteria
  • • Significant level of general, acute paediatric dietetic experience plus demonstrable clinical experience within a specialist area (preferably obesity) in both the Inpatient and Outpatient setting • Demonstrable interest in working within CYP obesity services • Demonstrable understanding and evidence of working within a holistic MDT • Experience of motivational interviewing and behavioural management techniques • Proven ability to perform at Band 7 level and work independently • Proven development work • MDT work with influential role and point of reference for the team • Experience of audit and /or research leading to service review / development • Talks/group/education session work • Student Training experience
Desirable criteria
  • • Speaker at training days / conferences at local, regional and national level • Evidence of involvement in nutritional programme development
Skills
Essential criteria
  • • Good written and verbal communication skills / interpersonal skills • Be prepared to deal with complex and sensitive issues • Be able to remain calm and able to concentrate intensely through distressing and emotional interviews • Able to convey highly complex ideas in easily understood language • Be able to function in clinical situations with many people present • Able to demonstrate leadership attributes and lead a team • Computer literature and adaptable to use a wide range of software

  • The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of Safe, Kind, Excellent. • Ability to undertake on-call duties • Works well under pressure
