Job Description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities Provide information to support the development of business plans and business cases as required and as directed by the Service Manager and care group management team
Analyse and interpret data in order to deliver well-presented information at care group and divisional management and governance boards plus ad-hoc trust forums.
Support the General Manager and Service Manager in the development of a service strategy in line with Trust Objectives and business plans/business cases
To plan, organise and arrange activities to link with the overall divisional strategy
Participate in service redesign events, including using LEAN methodology to facilitate service changes
Responsible for the management of the Doctors rota for specialist services in the post holder portfolio .
Ensuring all leave requests are robustly managed and any approved leave does not impact upon capacity
To support the Directorate in ensuring all Doctor Legislation is met and that the Directorate complies with the Junior Doctors Hours
Authorisation of Doctor timesheets, within a defined limit

Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or evidence of equivalent level of ability/NHS experience to Post/Graduate level


Knowledge Essential criteria
  • Knowledge and understanding of the key aspects of current NHS Policy including Agenda for Change and Key Performance Targets (RTT & Cancer)
  • Knowledge of hospital IT systems, such as Patient Administration System, Qlikview, OPN/EDN and Galaxy
  • Knowledge of medical rota requirements
  • A thorough understanding of medical pathways and recent extensive experience within Specialist Medicine field.
  • Excellent understanding of all relevant constitutional standards relating to medicine, plus a proven track record of managing medical pathways.


Experience Essential criteria
  • Understanding and experience of NHS waiting lists
  • Understanding and experience of patient pathway
  • Line management of admin and other non-clinical staff, managerial experience is a prerequisite for this role.


Skills Essential criteria
  • Good all round IT and Microsoft Office skills
