Job Description

Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) is one of the largest and busiest children's hospitals in the UK. We are very proud of our specialised (tertiary), and highly specialist (quarternary) services which provide care for children and young people across the North West, the UK and internationally.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist to join our paediatric medicine pharmacy team and to specialise in renal medicine and rheumatology. You will be an integral member of the paediatric renal and rheumatology teams, working with paediatric clinicians, multidisciplinary teams and families, to optimise pharmaceutical care. You will be supported to have a directorate role to help to shape the services available to our families.

This is a fantastic opportunity for ambitious clinical pharmacists to join our experienced, encouraging, and friendly team. We have a wealth of clinical knowledge in a wide range of specialties and our strong team of senior pharmacists are well placed to help you develop your specialist clinical and leadership skills. You will also train, develop and be supported by junior pharmacists within our medicine team. We have excellent links with local universities and CPPE, as well as a variety of clinical national networks. We are also actively looking to promote NMP roles to support our busy teams.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic pharmacist with hospital experience and a desire and passion to work in innovative paediatric services. You will be able to support medicines optimisation, service developments, governance work and show good leadership skills which all contribute to improving our patient care. Investing in people is important to us and you will be supported in developing your expertise and skills through formal training courses, mentoring, regular appraisals and working within a supportive specialist medicine pharmacy team.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction following start in post. The amount of £26.85(standard disclosure) or £43.85 (enhanced disclosure) which will be deducted from salary, in the first 3 months of employment. If you wish to withdraw once a DBS application has commenced you will be still liable for payment.
