Job Description

Bank Physiotherapist – Neuro/Rehabilitation and Oncology

Cromwell Hospital, SW5 0TU

Bank rate £31.38 per hour

Mainly weekend and bank holiday cover

Role Overview:

You will provide a client-centred and evidence-based service to adult and very occasionally older paediatric inpatients to continue their therapy care on weekends and bank holidays. You will provide therapy for patients with oncology, neurological and general rehabilitation needs and may be asked to support the Orthopaedic or Cardiothoracic caseload within your capability.

What you’ll do:

• Be responsible for the physiotherapy management of the patient load assigned to you and to practise as an accountable professional.

• Use reflective practise and clinical reasoning in undertaking specialist assessments in order to provide an individualised treatment programme for each patient in concurrence with the main physiotherapist’s plan during the week.

• Maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely patient treatment records and also to record reasons if a patient was not seen.

• Manage clinical risk within your caseload at all times and ensure potential clinical risk is effectively communicated and managed.

• Liaise with nursing staff and assess or deal appropriately with any new admissions that are not on your handover list.

• Communicate the addition of new patients during the weekend to a relevant weekend or weekday Physiotherapist.

• Provide other weekend colleagues with assistance as your caseload and clinical competence allow.

What you’ll bring:

• Degree in Physiotherapy.

• HCPC registration and CSP membership.

• Confidence and ability to work unsupervised.

• Sound clinical reasoning skills.

• Experience in fitting equipment if appropriate i.e., crutches.
