Bank Administrator | Private Hospital | Competitive Salary | Flexible working | Tunbridge Wells

Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital is looking for an Administrator to join our Governance team to provide support including supporting complaints and maintaining audit spreadsheets on a bank/temporary basis

Spire Tunbridge Wells is a 40 bedded acute hospital situated in rural Kent, located within five miles of Royal Tunbridge Wells and on the boundaries of West Sussex. The hospital offers a range of services and facilities including two operating theatres, a sterile services department, a dedicated endoscopy suite, and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner. There are outpatient and physiotherapy departments providing services six days a week

Job Responsibilities
  • Support in the efficient and cost effective operation of the kitchen.
  • In conjunction with the Kitchen Team Leader, be responsible for the ordering of food stuffs, ensuring adequate supplies, correct storage and stock rotation. Maintain good working relationships with suppliers.
  • Support the Kitchen Team Leader in ensuring adequate cover for all kitchen staffs' absenteeism over holiday periods and sickness.
  • Responsible for menu planning and the recording of any information related to stock movement or make up dishes as is deemed necessary by the Hotel Services Manager.
  • In conjunction with the Kitchen Team Leader, ensure that kitchen staff are fully trained to enable then to produce and/or serve food and beverages according to hospital procedure and standards in line with the Spire Healthcare's catering policy manual.

Food Preparation
  • Responsible for the production of starters, sweets, main courses and function work for patients, staff and visitors to the hospital as directed by the Kitchen Team Leader
  • Ensuring the implementation of safe and hygienic working practices at all times in accordance with the Health and Safety Regulations and the Food Safety Act 1990.
  • Responsible for the attractive presentation of food at all times and for whatever outlet of a standard compliant with Spire HealthCare's Catering Policy.
  • Ensuring correct handling of food stuffs at all times with regard to storage, rotation, temperature control etc. by all kitchen personnel in compliance with food hygiene training and the Food Act 1990.

Who we're looking for
  • The successful candidate must have demonstrable catering experience (minimum 2 years) coupled with a relevant qualification and/or a willingness to develop this i.e. Level 2 or above in Food Hygiene.
  • In order to be considered for this role, you must have previous proven experience as a chef/cook is a key requirement
  • You must be a team player who is accustomed to a fast paced environment - these tools will ensure success in the role.
  • Strong English skills in both reading, speaking and writing English
