Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria
  • Numerate and literate Educated to GCSE level or equivalent


ExperienceEssential criteria
  • Planning and organising straightforward tasks Following standard operating procedures Experience of using IT packages Experience of stock control

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a Pathology laboratory Experience of QPulse and Epic


KnowledgeEssential criteria
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality Understands the importance of quality and care in their work. Understands the role of Pathology in diagnostic testing and patient care.

Desirable criteria
  • Basic knowledge of the Tissue Typing laboratory Basic knowledge of health and safety in the laboratory


SkillsEssential criteria
  • Ability to manage time working to schedule and timescales Good organisational skills Ability to store and safeguard confidential documents Ability to work as part of a team Good communication skills (written and oral) Concentration and dexterity Basic IT skills - ability to use Microsoft Office Outlook. Computer and keyboard literate. Ability to follow processes and procedures with accuracy and attention to detail
