Job Description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for delivering first class, effective financial advice and support to the wider organisation. This will include monthly reporting to Board and Care Groups, completion of business cases and support to identify and report savings plans.

  • CCAB Qualified
  • Evidence of CPD

SkillsEssential criteria
  • Able to interpret/analyse highly complex financial and statistical data
  • Able to work with other professions
  • Able to prioritise own activities and use initiative
  • Competent IT user, in particular Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and organise oneself under pressure

ExperienceEssential criteria
  • Substantial finance experience
  • Staff management experience
  • Experience of Business Case production
  • Experience of partnership working at a senior level

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of using SBS General Ledger

KnowledgeEssential criteria
  • In depth knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial systems & costing methodologies
  • Knowledge of developing and reporting cost improvement schemes
  • Detailed understanding of computerised accounting systems

KMPT is committed to supporting all new staff and this includes a comprehensive Induction programme. The duration of the programme is dependent on role and can be from 2 days to 4 weeks (not always consecutive days).
The Induction programme will provide an excellent opportunity for new staff to meet and engage with KMPT's subject specialists and will include the essential training required.
The programme may involve some travel to the various training venues across Kent and Medway, the main ones being Canterbury, Maidstone and Dartford.
