Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria
  • General education to degree level, equivalent professional qualification or equivalent experience, Advanced technical qualifications or equivalent experience

Desirable criteria
  • PRINCE/MSP or other project management qualification, Epic certified in EDI module


ExperienceEssential criteria
  • Experience in Integration and/or software development • Experience of working with senior clinical staff, medical consultants and other senior managers • Experience of delivering complex technical projects to tight deadlines • Configuration and adaptation of systems to meet the needs of users • Experience of working with suppliers and other senior managers

Desirable criteria
  • Interfaces design and delivery in a clinical environment • Experience of working with the Epic EPR system • Experience of delivery of benefits from the implementation of technology • Experience in software management, implementation or support. • Experience of working with any Integration Engine is highly desirable


KnowledgeEssential criteria
  • In depth specialist knowledge of messaging standards. ie. HL7, XML and similar • Knowledge of software development lifecycles and methodologies • Understanding of Information Governance

Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of NHS operational and/or clinical management • Knowledge of working with an integration engine • Thorough understanding of clinical and/or operational workflows and processes • Highly developed specialist knowledge of the Epic EPR system


SkillsEssential criteria
  • •Excellent IT Skills •Excellent business and process analytical skills •Able to work equally well under own initiative and as part of a team •Ability to resolve complex process and analytical problems •Ability to meet conflicting deadlines and balance multiple tasks concurrently whilst remaining calm under pressure •Ability to make decisions based on complex facts or situations requiring analysis, interpretation, or comparison of a range of options •Sound project management skills •First class application technical skills •Good communication skills - particularly with clinical and senior staff •Present complex technical information to non-technical large groups of internal or external clinicians/ operational managers •Negotiate and use effective persuasive techniques with senior level staff •Ability to concentrate for long periods of time on complex data and process analysis
