Job Description

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £40.00. This fee will be deducted from your second months salary.

Person specificationSkillsEssential criteria
  • •Computer literate experience of microsoft word •Written reports to senior hospital management/consultants •Audits •Business case

QualificationsEssential criteria
  • Qualifications: •Masters level degree in pharmacy •Post graduate pre-registration year •GPhC member •Post graduate clinical diploma

Desirable criteria
  • •Qualified and registered Supplementary or Independent prescriber. •Leadership and management development course •Suitable qualification in pharmaceutical medical gas training


ExperienceEssential criteria
  • Clinical Pharmacy: •Extensive knowledge of Parenteral Nutrition. •Highly specialised knowledge of drugs used and therapeutic trends within specialist area. •Awareness of NICE, NSF and NPSA, guidelines and involved in implementation of relevant guidance •Experienced clinical pharmacist including consultant ward round & nutrition team meeting attendance. •Drug policy and guidelines PGD development. •Documentation in medical notes. •Knowledge and experience of audit methodology. Management •Previous managerial experience and responsibility for pharmacists and other associated staff groups Training and education •Medical/nursing and pharmacy staff training Teaching experience

Desirable criteria
  • Clinical Pharmacy: •Drug expenditure analysis and reporting •Horizon scanning •Publication of papers and research journals •Own research interest (could be systems/processes) •Ability to lead on audits Management: •Project management experience Training and education: Tutor experience for both certificate and diploma


KnowledgeEssential criteria
  • •Knowledge of requirements for licensed 'special' units •Associated GMP knowledge & understanding •Knowledge of Clinical Trials & GCP •Good Manufacturing Practice knowledge •Development of specialist protocols & procedures

Desirable criteria
  • •Problem solving skills •Able to assess priorities and make decisions •Personal identification with service requirements •Self-reliant, dependable, able to cope with stress & pressure from different user departments •Good time management •Ability to work flexible & unsocial hours
