Job Description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities Receiving and welcoming patients to the department
Checking patients onto the booking system
Dealing with queries from patients and medical staff
Eliciting information from the patient either on the phone, email or face to face contact and evaluating all previous contact with the department, then deciding the appropriate outcome
Booking ENT patients on to the system for testing or fitting of a digital Hearing aid/s
Assist the audiology coordinator with rescheduling of staff patients list. Often at short notice in the event of staff sickness
Assist Audiologists with general enquires

Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE, grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths


Knowledge Essential criteria
  • Basic knowledge of spreadsheets, word and office


Experience Essential criteria
  • Previous receptionist experience in a healthcare or public setting
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Clerical/administration experience


Skills Essential criteria
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Values Based Question Essential criteria
  • Give an example of a time where you have demonstrated a 'can do' attitude (including the situation you were in) and the outcome
