Job Description

The Manchester Royal Eye Hospital is a part of the Manchester Foundation Trust, a leading integrated health, teaching, research and innovation campus in the thriving city of Manchester. We offer a unique range of services treating and managing the simplest to the most complex eye conditions and diseases.

We are looking for an effective team leader/theatre scheduler to support the delivery of our comprehensive, high quality and efficient inpatient service. Your role will involve supporting a team of admissions staff, along with two other team leaders, based at theManchester Royal Eye Hospital and providing cross cover as required at the Withington Cataract Unit. Our inpatient service incorporates pre-operative assessment, theatres scheduling and post-operative assessments, with input from our clinical, admin and management teams to ensure that our patients receive their surgical interventions in a safe and timely manner according to clinical need, National and Trust priorities. Our inpatient service is delivered according to Manchester Foundation Trust's values with pride, respect, empathy, consideration, compassion and dignity.

The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive induction, and one to one support from the Operational Manager. You will also benefit from excellent development and progression opportunities to increase knowledge and, skills through a wide a range of internal courses, underpinned by an annual appraisal.

The successful candidate for this post must be a strong team worker committed to delivering an excellent service, offering the best patient experience and care. Strong communication skills are essential to be able to understand patient comments and concerns, along with those of colleagues.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction following start in post. The amount of £29.50(standard disclosure) or £47.50 (enhanced disclosure) which will be deducted from salary, in the first 3 months of employment. If you wish to withdraw once a DBS application has commenced you will be still liable for payment.
