Job Description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities To provide physiotherapy to patients, working as part of integrated specialty teams on a rotational basis delivering 7 day services.
The post-holder will undertake rotations within Medway Maritime Hospital in Surgical/Critical Care, Surgical/Vascular, Orthopaedic Trauma/Elective, Paediatrics and Women's Health, Cardiorespiratory (including HDU), Neuro and Macmillan, Front Door, including the Emergency Department, and Elderly Care/Frailty. The option outpatient musculoskeletal and stroke rehabilitation secondments may be available in the local NHS Health economy.
To be part of the physiotherapy emergency respiratory on-call and weekend rota.

Person specification Qualification Essential criteria
  • Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current Health Professions Council registration
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy


Knowledge Essential criteria
  • Understanding of the balance of professional development needs with service needs
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance and managing risk in your own work
  • Awareness of national and professional guidelines and issues


Skills Essential criteria
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic IT skills
  • Able to demonstrate a holistic approach to patient management


Experience Essential criteria
  • Able to demonstrate a holistic approach to patient management
  • Broad range of under-graduate clinical placements
  • Experience of responding to demand / prioritising work in a ward setting
  • Experience of managing an allocated caseload and delegating to assistants in a ward based setting
