Business Development Manager – Health

Salary: Pro rata £24,000 per annum (FTE £40,000 per annum).

Hours: Part-time 22.5 per week (with flexibility on days and hours)

Location: Flexible - Homebased /Lingfield, Surrey (with a minimum of 1 day onsite)

We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join us in an exciting new role within Young Epilepsy Health Services and grow our market presence.

About us:

Young Epilepsy is the only UK charity dedicated to creating better lives for children and young people with epilepsy and related conditions.

We provide world class diagnosis, assessment and rehabilitation and undertake research into the condition and how it can be treated. In addition, our unique blend of specialist services includes a school, college and residential services providing education and healthcare for children and young people with epilepsy, autism and other neurological conditions.

We also provide a range of support and information for parents, children and young people and training for professionals. Additionally, we campaign for better access to, and quality of, health and education services, and to raise awareness and increase understanding of epilepsy.

About the role:

This role will involve liaising and building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including NHS Trusts, private healthcare organisaitons and Local Authorities. Although there is an emphasis on new business development, there are also established relationships which can be built upon. Due to our unique and varied offerings there are opportunities to be part of exciting new projects such as the current technology product we are developing, MEG, which is an accessible brain imaging tool for the accurate diagnosis and evaluation of children and young people with epilepsy.

In this role you will:

  • Research business and market intelligence to gain insight into appropriate markets and identify opportunities.

  • Identify potential new funding streams, customers and business partners.

  • Write and manage in depth, complex business cases, proposals and tenders for product and service delivery opportunities.

  • Manage all aspects of the completion of proposals and tenders to timescale and budget.

  • Ensure that our approach to developing services reflects industry wide best practice and exploits opportunities for innovation.

    What we need from you:

  • Proven experience as a business development professional with a strong understanding of business planning processes, analysis techniques and procurement and commissioning.

  • A track record of developing existing services to meet changing needs and priorities.

  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills with a proven ability to write proposals and bids.

  • The ability to build high level relationships with existing and prospective external partners and other organisations.

  • The ability to understand, interpret and convey complex ideas.

  • To be proactive and collaborative in your approach and a have willingness to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas when appropriate.
