Job Description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Under the direction of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to contribute to the assessment and psychological treatment of outpatients referred to the West Kent Neuropsychiatry Service.

The outpatient Neuropsychiatry Service provides complex assessment and treatment of functional neurological conditions (e.g. dissociative seizures), and psychiatric complications associated with long term neurological conditions (e.g. multiple sclerosis).

The role requires close working and excellent communication with members of the multidisciplinary team as well as patients and their families. It also requires liaison with outside care agencies, health professionals and voluntary services as required.

Person specificationTraining and QualifictionsEssential criteria

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a Practitioner Psychologist

ExperienceEssential criteria
  • Evidence of an interest in Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neuropsychology.

Desirable criteria
  • Additional specialist supervised experience in the setting and client group of this post.
