Job Description

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £40.00. This fee will be deducted from your second month's salary.

Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria
  • •Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy •State registration •Evidence of relevant post-graduate education / CPD

Desirable criteria
  • •Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy •Relevant validated clinical courses •Involvement in special interest groups, i.e. AGILE, ACPIN


ExperienceEssential criteria
  • •Relevant clinical work at band 6 level providing a broad range of experience in respiratory, elderly care and neurological conditions •Experience in respiratory care, including critical care •Experience of providing rehabilitation to patients •Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy team and / or MDT •Contributing to clinical education of less experienced staff, students or assistants •Competency to participate in weekend work and respiratory on call •Significant postgraduate NHS experience

Desirable criteria
  • •Experience in a wide range of junior rotations •Advanced neurological experience •Experience in mentoring students


KnowledgeEssential criteria
  • •Good knowledge of neurological, respiratory and rehabilitation physiotherapy •Ability to pass on knowledge to others within both formal and informal environments

Desirable criteria
  • •Knowledge of workings of community services within rehabilitation •Advanced knowledge of common neurological conditions •Advanced knowledge of discharge planning


SkillsEssential criteria
  • •Forward thinking •Excellent inter-personal skills •Self-directed learning •Ability to work independently •Ability to pass on skills to others within both formal and informal environments •Good organisational skills •Ability to manage own caseload •Administrative and computer skills

Desirable criteria
  • •Presentation skills •Evidence of participation in research / audit
