Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
  • To assist the Physiotherapy Manager and her staff in maintaining the smooth and efficient running of the Department.
  • To carry out the non - clinical tasks within the Department including all the necessary administration.
  • To be responsible for the coding and billing for the physiotherapy in and out-patients.


ACCOUNTABILITIES/ACTIVITIES
  • Welcoming and care of patients in the department.
  • To arrange patient appointments, new and follow up at the Physiotherapists request
  • To create the necessary patient Records for Physiotherapy use.
  • To keep all filing up to date.
  • To enter discharge information in new patient's book & collate statistics as required by the Physiotherapy Manager.
  • To follow through the loan of equipment procedure and where necessary liaise with patients regarding return of equipment.
  • To do typing and computer work as required by the staff and the department.
  • Ensure that the reception area is cleared at the end of each day and confidential material is correctly secured.

To be responsible for the coding and billing for the Physiotherapy in - patients and out - patients.

a). Update patient's accounts in respect of Insurance companies' advice notes, and all other actions relating to them.

b). Listing cheques and other monies when necessary.

Liaison with Insurance Companies:

a). Promotes good working relationship with Insurance Companies.

b). Advises accounts officer of any adjustments to be made on accounts.

c). Answers all Insurance Company telephone requests promptly and efficiently.

d). Obtaining completed out - patient claim forms.

e). Processing EDI.

Liaison with Patients:

a). Answers all patients telephone requests in respect of account queries.

b). Obtains relevant Insurance details to ascertain eligibility of claim.

c). Follows through with Insurance Companies.

Complies with obligations in respect of Health and Safety at work Legislation, fire drills, fire procedures etc.
  • Attends mandatory training lectures once a year.
  • Provide back up cover for existing Admin staff.
  • Any other duties at the discretion of the manager

Experience:

Customer service - Essential

Administration - Essential

SAP - Desirable

Hospital Expereince - Desirable

Working Hours: Bank - Ad hoc, to cover sickness, annual leave and busier periods

Contract Type: Bank
