Trafford Local Care Organisation

We are TraffordLocal Care Organisation - an exciting, new public sector organisation bringing together NHS community health services and adultsocial care services in Trafford. We're driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Trafford by working across organisational boundaries.

Our community healthcare teams inadults andchildren's servicesare employed by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and deployed to us, linking closely with our colleagues in Manchester Local Care Organisation. Our teams work as one and together we will make a massive difference to the health of people in Trafford.

We are currently looking to recruit motivated full-time/part-time Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to work within our Health Visiting Service. These will be permanent appointments.

The successful applicants will help to support the delivery of health services to children and young people within the context of their families and within the wider community as part of the multi-agency workforce.

We require motivated people, who are keen to learn, responsive to change and who are able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and team working. An awareness of safeguarding issues and a broad understanding of children and young people's health issues both locally and nationally are also required.

You will need the ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of a team. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are essential as are good organisational and prioritising skills.

In return we are able to offer a thorough induction programmeas well as ensuring support with continuing professional development.

Whilst successful applicants will primarily work within one team, all applicants may be required to work at other locations to ensure equitable service delivery. Core service hours are Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

Key Responsibilities of the Post:

This post requires you to work under supervision as part of small skill mix team that includes Health Visitors, Staff Nurses, Community Nursery Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

The role involves predominantly administrative duties supporting the Health Visiting Team to ensure clients receive appropriate intervention and support in a timely manner. Good IT skills are required as the successful candidate will be required to access and input onto health databases.

You will also have a role in supporting members of the Health Visiting Team with well-baby clinics in a variety of settings including Health Centres and Children's Centres.

Key Requirements of the Person Specification:
  • Experience of carrying out clerical duties.
  • Knowledge of the role of the Healthcare Assistant.
  • Experience of working within a team.
  • Computer literate.
  • Training and experience to NVQ 2 level
  • Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
