Job Description

Main duties of the job
  • Leading ward rounds and providing a comprehensive assessment followed by treatment plan
  • MHA work including presenting evidence at tribunals
  • Provide clinical leadership to the MDT
  • Co-work with operational managers and engage in clinical effectiveness forum to improve the quality of patient care
  • Engage with the medical leaders within the organization and engage in quality improvement work
  • Participate in clinical governance activities
  • Supervise medical students

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • The post holder willhave delegatedresponsibilityfor providing clinical care to the22inpatients and medical leadership to theKeatsward team, as well as supporting and contributing to the management and development of the ward functioning.
  • They will be responsible for assessing patients inthe ward & arriving at a formulation and treatment plan.
  • Preparing and presenting evidence for Tribunals and Manager's hearing.
  • The post holder will work with the Home-Based Treatment Team and Care Coordinators from the three Community Mental Health Teams in Salford, to facilitate discharge, and provide an alternative to inpatient admission.
  • The post holder will be encouraged to attend the weekly MRCPsych teaching course. This is the weekly academic course for trainees which constitutes of a case conference, journal club, and expert teaching.
  • The post holder will be encouraged to engage in teaching and training of various members of the multidisciplinary team and provide supervision to members of the team.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment


Skills

  • Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training
  • Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership & collaborative working to deliver improvement
  • Participated in continuous professional development
