Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull has an exciting new opportunity in our Finance team. We are looking for a qualified and experienced individual to join us as a Finance and Commercial Manager.

The role is full time and on a permanent basis.

Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull, West Midlands offers a comprehensive range of private hospital services. Our hospital is rated Good by the CQC for all parts of the inspection except for Patient Care, which is rated Outstanding. The report states, "Staff treated patients with compassion and kindness, respected their privacy and dignity, took account of their individual needs, and helped them understand their conditions. They provided emotional support to patients, families and carers."

Reporting into the Hospital Director, the purpose of the role is to develop the hospital's business strategy alongside the Senior Management Team. Your duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the financial running of the hospital to ensure that it achieves all financial goals in accordance with the financial policies and procedures of the organisation
  • Working with colleagues in the hospital to promote a commercial culture of continuous improvement in order to deliver the highest quality processes and services to consultants and patients whilst delivering the hospital's strategic plans.
  • Providing the leadership in translating and implementing the hospital strategy into operational practice and delivering on business objectives and annual operating plans for P&L and working capital
  • Supporting business development by maximising resource allocation enabling the hospital to expand its reach into existing and new markets.

Ideal candidate would have:
  • Completed an accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) - essential
  • Great communication and organisational skills
  • Experience in healthcare or other customer orientated business is desirable but not essential
  • The ability to understand key business processes and complex business issues
  • Displays high standards of personal integrity and initiative
  • The ability to display a high attention to detail
  • Identifies opportunities for personal development
  • PC literate, able to adopt and contribute, where required, to the introduction and development of new systems. Intermediate Excel skills are essential and experience of SAP is desirable
