Senior Pharmacy Technician – Medicines Management and Patient Services – Band 5

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Pharmacy Technician to join the surgical medicines management team. The successful candidate will work both in Patient Services and Clinical Services within Pharmacy. Key responsibilities will be:

Medicines Management
  • To collaborate with senior pharmacists in the development and implementation of effective medicines management systems.
  • To manage the organisation, audit, supply, dispensing, record keeping and monitoring of ward technical pharmacy services. To provide a high quality, efficient service to patients
  • To undertake the day to day management and responsibility for the operational supply of medicines to wards, ensuring an effective and efficient pharmacy technical service with the surgical team.
  • To help maintain systems for service provision, in order to provide a high quality, efficient pharmacy service to patients and staff
  • To provide supervision, training and development to technicians undertaking medicines management activities in order to ensure high professional standards of practice

Patient Services
  • To assist Pharmacy dispensary managers with the provision of Pharmacy Services to patients and staff at Westmoreland Street, and to ensure efficient and timely service following agreed departmental policies and procedures.
  • To participate and support audit, risk management and clinical governance initiatives to provide safe and effective medicines management to staff and patients at UCLH.
