Job Description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Post holder will assist the care Group quality & governance co-ordinator and the Care Group Lead for Patient Experience in the following areas:

  • Liaising with local managers to support the operational delivery of the Care Group quality & governance framework.
  • Assisting local services to ensure required standards are achieved.
  • Assisting in investigations, highlighting recommendations and devising action plans.
  • Supporting the Care Group in continual improvement of practice.
  • Proactively gathering evidence of the CQC Core Standards.
  • Supporting the identification & management of risks to the quality of care.
  • Being involved in the identification of learning from good practice/poor practice and sharing as relevant.
  • Providing feedback and practical (hands-on) support to teams and individual staff regarding local systems to enhance understanding and performance. E.g. Datix, Person Centred Care Planning, audits, serious incidents and complaints.
  • Completing reports/providing information regarding quality, service improvement & compliance.
  • Assisting in the planning, conducting, analysis and report writing for improvement projects & initiatives e.g. Audits, service evaluations and research.
  • Supporting CQUIN Leads and the Care Group Performance Manager with all matters relating to the delivery and reporting of CQUIN performance, in order to improve the quality of service provision.
  • Using results to explore any areas requiring improvement in order to support the devising, implementation and monitoring of action plans (e.g. serious incident, complaint, CQC inspection, Triangle of Care).
  • To carry out such other duties as the Head of Specialty may reasonably request.
  • Devising and delivering a range of training to patients, carers and/or staff.
  • Consulting with & supporting communication strategies to relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting service users and carers in improvement projects.
  • Being involved in putting together bids/tenders.
  • Carrying out research into best practice around improvement projects.
  • Evaluating improvement projects after implementation.
  • Liaising directly with service users, carers, visitors & staff regarding their experience of services.
  • Assisting in the review/update of local and Care Group policies.
  • To carry out such other duties as the Head of Speciality may reasonably request.

Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria
  • Educated to post graduate level in a care qualification - Essential

ExperienceEssential criteria
  • Must have clinical experience and be able to work with service users ensuring their involvement in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Sound experience of research methods, data collection and analysis- Essential
  • Applicants must have a good understanding of quality processes such as CQC standards and the quality improvement process or have a willingness to learn.

OtherEssential criteria
  • Must hold a clean driving licence & have the ability to travel between bases around Kent in a timely manner - Essential

SkillsEssential criteria
  • Strong IT & excellent report writing skills - Essential
  • Must be able to work as part of team and be motivated to deal with new challenges and changing environments
