Job Description

Operating in conjunction with the wider work of the devolution agenda, Health Innovation Manchester (HInM) is an academic health science system leading a programme of innovation across the entire health and social care community to ensure population health needs are met in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

Established to drive innovation into the system, the role of Health Innovation Manchester is to act as a systems enabler, partnering with academia, industry and healthcare providers, helping to connect emerging research with industry innovators, accelerating the development and adoption of innovations and aligning them with the region's most pressing health and social care challenges.

The Utilisation Management Unit (UM) is a clinically led NHS team of experienced clinicians and healthcare analysts providing high quality, actionable intelligence by underpinning sophisticated data analysis with clinical expertise. We are commissioned to work across geographical and organisational boundaries providing detailed information on commissioned provider services from both strategic and clinical perspectives.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Information Analyst to join our small and dynamic team.

We can offer you the opportunity to work with a range of commissioner and provider organisations across Greater Manchester and further afield. Working with the Utilisation Management Unit, you will be able to see first-hand how the data and analysis you provide is used to improve strategic planning and patient pathways. We can offer you the chance to work closely with clinical colleagues and to participate in the clinical review process from initial planning meetings to feedback of results.

You will be responsible for; providing analysis and reporting on primarily urgent and emergency care activity, accurately forecasting future demand, providing data analysis on clinical pathway reviews and supporting whole health and social care systems to improve patient flow and patient outcomes via the use of reporting and visualisation tools. This fixed term post will also be involved in supporting wider analytical work across Health Innovation Manchester.

You will be; qualified to degree level (or equivalent) and have relevant data analysis experience, have expert knowledge of information data sources, data management and extraction, have experience of using reporting tools and automating routine tasks and possess excellent communication skills.

You will be required to undertake a technical assessment as part of the interview process. The interview will take place via Microsoft Teams.
