Job Description
Job Title: Hospital Manager
Location/Base: Slough
Hours: 37.5 per week to the needs of the service
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 per annum
Reports to: Director of Clinical Services
Accountable to: Medical Director/CEO
Main Purpose of Post:
As the Hospital Manager you will lead the whole Hospital Team in the safe, effective, efficient delivery of clinical care. Your key responsibilities will focus on patient centric care, participating in the entire pathway for patients from pre-admission, surgery and post-operative management.
The role will ensure safe delivery of services and smooth running of the Hospital. Leading on both the clinical governance and CQC compliance within the Hospital.
Working with the Director of Clinical Services, and other Hospital Managers, you will ensure The CHEC Way is implemented, and adhered too in a systematic way across your unit.
You will provide into the Quality and Performance department, and the Clinical Effectives Group (CEG), to drive clinical effectiveness across the organisation.
You will ensure all clinical and non-clinical staff are appropriately recruited, trained and managed including mandatory training, training, performance and quality.
You may be asked to work at different sites throughout the organisation.
Main Responsibilities & Key Duties
You will be a visible Leader for the hospital teams, Clinical & Administration, encouraging development and motivation within the teams.
Maintain adherence to CQC regulations and ensure CQC inspections are planned for success, engage with staff to ensure they are fully briefed on CQC regulation and its effect on patient care
Adhere to good record keeping, drug administration in line with The Royal College of Nursing and The Pharmaceutical Society guidelines, and corporate policies and procedures, ensuring you have an audit processes and action plans in place to monitoring the effectiveness of these policies and procedures reporting into the Clinical Effectiveness Group any non -compliance.
Oversee and when required undertake scrub procedures in ophthalmic cases, supporting the theatre team as a Senior theatre lead and ensuring safe patient care at all times.
Experienced in managing an AMD service, as part of Ophthalmology services.
You will have a sound knowledge of all the hospitals equipment and liaise with the Facilities & Premises team to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose and use.
You will undertake ALS training and ensure your team are suitably trained to Resuscitation Council guidance
There is currently no on-call service, but this may develop over time
Adhere to Information Governance rules on data protection at all times

Requirements
3 years post training if RN or ODP
Evidence of strong leadership
Monitoring the performance of the service and ensuring that it is of high quality
Experience of managing
complex problems

Dealt with the CQC
Registered Healthcare Professionals
