Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is seeking a dedicated Quality & Governance Specialist to join our Governance team on a permanent basis (30 hours a week)
This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical departments, collaborating closely with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement in patient safety and care quality.

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is seeking a dedicated Quality & Governance Specialist to join our Governance team on a permanent basis (30 hours a week)
This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical departments, collaborating closely with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement in patient safety and care quality.
Duties and responsibilities:
To assist with the co-ordination of all clinical governance processes within the Hospital, monitoring and assisting with compliance in all relevant clinical standards.
- Under the direction of the Clinical Governance Manager, provide guidance and support on clinical governance processes across the Hospital.
- Participate in assurance of full compliance with all relevant clinical quality standards and Clinical KPI's.
- Contribute to the review of existing practices, ensuring that progressive solutions, which take into account models of best practice and all relevant policies, procedures and legislation are incorporated into Hospital plans and implemented.
- Report serious patient safety incidents to the Spire Clinical Governance team, CQC, ICB, police, safeguarding board as appropriate.
- To investigate patient safety incidents on Datix and write up appropriate reports (KSI, PSIR, local review etc) following investigation.
- Involve the patient and the patient's family members in incident investigations.
- To share and embed lessons learned from incidents.
- Facilitate or chair the weekly incident review and KSI meeting.
- Facilitate SWARM huddles and AAR (After Action Review Meetings).
- Assist in managing audits on the AMaT audit system to ensure audits and audit actions are completed in a timely manner.
- Assist the Quality and Governance Manager in the preparation for of the Hospital Safety, Quality and Risk Committee meetings.
- Asist the Quality and Governance Manager in preparation for PSQR and CQC inspections.
Who we're looking for:
- Able to demonstrate continuous development.
- Professional Registration with NMC or HCPC
- Recent experience within a healthcare setting and able to demonstrate awareness of a Clinical Governance agenda
- Able to create Excel spreadsheets including basic formulae, graphs
- Able to create Word documents to produce reports that contain contents, tables, pictures and graphs.
- Able to produce PowerPoint presentations using tables, images and graphs with the appropriate information.
- Able to capture and produce accurate minutes actions and agenda items from Hospital Committees.
- Knowledge of the healthcare market
- Auditing skills across clinical standards and departments
