My client is looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join their organisation within the Hampshire area. This is low secure and locked rehabilitation service for men with learning disability and autism spectrum disorder, and for women with learning disability.
The successful candidate will be committed to a career in the Psychiatry of Intellectual Disabilities and will work as part of an MDT comprising psychiatrists, psychologists and nurses to deliver holistic and person-centred care in line with the ethos of my client.
The Consultant Psychiatrist role involves:
To be a member of the Medical Directorate. To operationally manage as a member of the Medical Directorate, within agreed standards, KPI targets, timeframes and constraints, in accordance with any operational and strategic objectives. To be responsible for the administration of the Mental Health Act, Clinical Policy, Directorate Service Level Agreements and associated administrative tasks. To exercise professional leadership and institute, manage and evaluate clinical practice through clinical audit that promotes excellence, in accordance with Clinical Governance and the National Service Framework Standards for Mental Health, as per my clients policies.
To be successful as Consultant Psychiatrist, you'll need:
To work very closely with the clinical MDTs to ensure that the highest standard of service is offered for the Apply provide leadership to the clinical team through effective teambuilding and facilitating. This will include liaising with external and internal referral agencies, carrying out pre-admission assessments to ensure that the service is able to meet the needs of those being admitted. To participate in the on-call arrangements for doctors and ensure that their training is appropriate for the job, as directed by the Medical Director. To be responsible for the clinical and professional supervision of the Specialty Doctor, as allocated by the Medical Director. To be fully involved in the shared pre-admission assessments of referrals. To prepare clinical reports for differing agencies, as required. To actively participate in the development of clinical governance initiatives within the Hospital and the wider South-East region. To participate in and help in developing medical and clinical audit processes within Priory South-East through the Clinical Governance structure. To ensure professional accountability for clinical effectiveness by complying with their relevant professional bodies. To meet the expected standards for maintaining Continuous Professional Development as required by the Royal College of Psychiatry. To be responsible for maintaining their own standards of clinical practice.
