The company provides individualised treatment and care for people with mental health needs of adult working age and who present with complex and challenging behaviours, in a safe and supportive environment. Their comprehensive integrated services offer complete care pathways allowing service users to transfer effortlessly between the most appropriate care, meeting individual needs enabling recovery and re-engagement within the community and maximising life opportunities.
The teams work collaboratively with up to 38 male and female service users and their commissioners, across 2 hospitals. Deliver acute and inpatient detoxification services, and a recovery and rehabilitation environment which includes a specialist female Personality Disorder service. The focus is to deliver excellent care, empowering service users to progress towards the least restrictive setting and towards independence.
This company operates a consultant-led medical model, with manageable patient caseloads and plentiful support from on-site GP services and either Specialty Doctors or Advanced Practitioners/Nurse Prescribers. The focus is on high quality expert psychiatric care delivered to the wards by consultants who are specifically trained and skilled in the models of care, and who are clinical leaders for values, ethics, and innovation. The medical team is cohesive and diverse and works as a functional problem-solving department. There is a strong medical presence in governance and audit at the site. The successful applicant will be expected to join this demanding, but flexible and enjoyable approach to the delivery of consultant expertise across the site.
The separate Unit is a well-established male locked rehabilitation service. The service operates the Recovery Model, and provides bespoke care for patients on rehabilitation pathways. The company is looking to recruit a new consultant to take over this service and develop it further. The successful applicant will join an established MDT at Unit, which includes a psychologist, an OT, and an Advanced Practitioner.
The successful candidate will be joining an expanding and clinically diverse hospital. There is strong governance at the hospital and the successful applicant will be expected to take an active role in service and quality development and to participate in the weekly doctors’ meeting. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in working in a rehabilitation service, and a commitment to innovation, evidence-based interventions, multi-professional working and service-user involvement. Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment
