Set within landscaped gardens, the safe and supportive environment of the Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a comprehensive inpatient specialist mental health service for young people and adults. The service is dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care and treatment for service users with challenging and complex needs, in order to enable their recovery and re-engagement with the community.
A full time vacancy (37.5 hours) has arisen for a Technical Instructor to join the Young People's Service to work across two of our CAMHS Wards - Meadows and Orchard. The post will be split evenly across both units.
The post holder will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, providing therapeutic activities for individual/groups, and will assist the Occupational Therapist in assessment and treatment of young people's needs.
Suitable applicants will therefore have at least one year's work experience (either paid, voluntary or community work) of which at least 6 months must relate to working with individuals with mental health problems. They must display competency in one or more leisure/creative/practical activities and possess the ability to teach practical skills . Good communication skills, both written and verbal are required, as are good time management skills, and interested applicants must have the confidence and ability to work independently of a qualified OT.
