Capita Healthcare Recruitment are looking for a Lead Clinician / Consultant to lead a multi-disciplinary team engaged in the pre-entry scrutiny of Army candidates' Primary Health Care Records (PHCR).
Capita are working in partnership with the Armed Forces to deliver the Recruiting Partnering Project and the Lead Clinician role is part of the process that involves medical screening of Army candidates. This is a permanent, full time post (37.5 hours a week), based in Upavon, Wiltshire and will require you to act as a Clinical Adviser and final decision maker on difficult cases.
As the Lead Clinician, you will be confident in taking clinical responsibility for monitoring the quality of decision making by the PHCR team of nurses, occupational therapists or physiotherapists and in time become the subject matter expert for PHCR scrutiny.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, you will be working as part of an integrated team of 13 mutually supportive doctors and will be trained as a Clinical Appraiser and other aspects of Army recruiting, with a view to aiding your appraisal / revalidation cycle.

Experience in military recruitment medicals, Disability Medicine / Occupational Medicine or the MOD is desirable but not essential as training and support is provided.
Flexible working is available but must meet the needs of the service. This role would be unsuitable for applicants using public transport to work.
