Operations/Scheduling Manager – Healthcare Service Provider
Our client, a leading healthcare provider is currently seeking to recruit an Operations / Scheduling manager to work in a leading flagship acute hospital. The purpose of the role is to ensure that there is visibility of scheduling in all areas of the hospital to ensure that use of resources can be planned and optimised.
The successful candidate will be a senior member of the hospital operations team and will lead the capacity management strategy for the hospital including on-boarding as well as the deployment, management and modification of technology based solutions that are implemented to enhance the scheduling function.
The role includes:
Management of the scheduling IT function
Management of Patient Admission to Hospital Facilities
Patient Flow/ Hospital Experience
Implementation of accurate forecasting systems of activity across all key areas of the hospital (Theatre, Cath Lab, Day Services, Emergency Department and inpatient beds) ensuring activity levels are optimised
Responsibility for the patient journey to include admission, performance of required procedure and transfer and discharge from inpatient and day bed within the hospital
Strategic management of the processes to identify potential issues and future requirements of the service and propose solutions to these issues. This will require the use of project management and strong analytical skills.
The development and reporting of a key set of indicators to senior management
Line Management responsibility for a number of functions with departments within the hospital.
Interested candidate will have the following experience:
scheduling and patient flow experience in a healthcare environment is desirable
A third level health science qualification in desirable
Experience in process mapping and project management is required
Comprehensive IT skills are required, previous experience in the deployment of a hospital operations system is desirable
Strong analytical skills are required
Excellent inter-personal skills
Leadership and management skills
