Nurturing talent, enhancing enthusiasm and developing skills
Pathology Manager (Maternity Cover)
£44,000 + benefits
The Spire Healthcare model is very simple, and unsurprisingly, has proved to be hugely popular. We believe in putting the patient first. From their physical and medical requirements to any aftercare and emotional support they need, we’ll ensure the patient is always respected and protected. We invest heavily in our facilities and people too, ensuring the best team are put in place, working with cutting-edge treatments. It’s because of this winning combination that we’re proud to have more than 50 clinics and hospitals in our portfolio – and now you can join our new state-of-the-art hospital in Nottingham.
Enjoying a manageable workload and the time you need to do your role to the best of your abilities, you will provide extensive pathology resources to the rest of the hospital, managing the team’s work and looking for ways in which you can provide cost-effective improvements to the service. Analysing results and providing information explaining complex findings, your role will entail everything from supervising research to mentoring more junior colleagues and the safe movement of specimens, tissue and blood.
Complying with all legislation and guidelines, you will set a high standard within the team. Applying resources carefully, including obtaining enough information to approve the use of clinical pathology investigations, you will be comfortable managing a budget and meeting business targets. A Biomedical Scientist with the Health & Care Professions Council, you will have an Honours degree in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent. Furthermore, your previous experience of managing a team will be matched by your enthusiasm to take up further professional development options, in order to enhance the skills and knowledge of your department.
This is an exciting opportunity to head up a team that is keen to be developed, providing ever better pathology services. So if you’re excited by the thought of being at the forefront of medical advances, join us today.
